Digital addressable lighting interface accords with the criterion of DALI(Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) protocol. DALI protocol is a protocol used for transmitting digital information between lighting equipment. Its core is having specific address of its own equipment for each system parts (lighting equipment), (it is called Slave for the single lighting equipment with independent address), and all the equipment is controlled by a central processing unit (master).

        DALI standard has been collected in EN60929 and IEC929. All of the technicians in this field know about DALI criterion. The specific choice when defining criterion is not the strongest and the most complex construction control system in the open functionality, but is a clear, simple system built in a structural definition. DALI design is not used for the complex bus system but for the indoor high intellectualized lighting management. To reach more complex control, it should of course through proper interface integration to the building management system(BMS).

        DALI system is different from EIB, LON bus system. It not makes it extend to be a system with complex control functions, but is only as a subsystem of lighting control system, integrating them in BMS through gateway, which can accept BMS control order, or receive subsystem operation state parameter.
